Divine Verses 10

Why interest (Riba) is prohibited in Qur’an? Islam teaches us to give up our lust for material things and to put the next life as our goal. We work hard, sacrificing the things of this world, our time, our money and our possessions all for the sake of Allah.Shaytan wants us to fall in love with the Dunya and then get so involved in it we will begin to get away from Allah and His Book. Then eventually, he would have us fall into the trap of dealing in Riba (usury and interest) and all the time trying to justify it and make it Halal – and thereby condemn ourselves to being cursed by Allah and have a war declared by Allah and His messenger; Interest (Riba)  prohibition in Qur’an is mentioned in three distinct passages. To consider the chronological order of the Qur’anic revelation, Allah, firstly, gave a warning;  “39. And that which you give in gift (to others), in order that it may increase (your wealth by expecting to get a better one in return) from other people’s property, has no increase with Allah, but that which you give in Zakat seeking Allah’sCountenance  then those, they shall have manifold increase. (Surah Ar-Rum;39) that riba earnings will be wiped out while persons giving charity will be rewarded more than they have spent. Secondly, believers have been ordered, and warned never to take riba at compound rates.  “ 130. O you who believe! Eat not Riba (usury) doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful. (Surah Ale-Imran;130). Thirdly riba in all forms was utterly condemned, and those cared not for its prohibition were threatened a holy war to be waged against them by Allah and his Messenger.  275. Those who eat Riba (usury) will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Shaitan(Satan) leading him to insanity. That is because they say; “Trading is only like Riba (usury),” whereas Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury). So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge); but whoever returns [to Riba (usury)], such are the dwellers of the Fire – they will abide therein. 276. Allah will destroy Riba (usury) and will give increase for Sadaqat (deeds of charity, alms, etc.) And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners. 277. Truly those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. 278. O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah and give up what remains (due to you) from Riba (usury) (from now onward), if you are (really) believers. 279. And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allah and His Messenger but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sums). (Surah Al-Baqarah  275-279).  For the iniquity of the Jews We made unlawful for them certain (foods) good and wholesome which had been lawful for them; in that they hindered many from Allah’s way. That they took usury though they were forbidden; and that they devoured men’s substance wrongfully; We have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment.  Surah An-Nisaa’ 160 – 161. By upholding the Law, Prophet Jesus also opposed the giving or taking of interest because the texts of the Torah expressly forbade interest. It is recorded in Deuteronomy 23;19 that, “You shall not lend upon interest to your brother, interest on money, interest upon victuals, (Food or provisions) interest on anything that is lent for interest. “(However, in the verse following this one, the Jews made lending on interest to non-Jews permissible; ‘To a foreigner you may lend upon interest, but to your brother you shall not lend upon interest.” (Deuteronomy 23;20) In the Books of the Old Testament the prohibition for lending money on Usury is clearly mentioned in; Take thou no USURY of him, or increase; but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee. Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase. (Leviticus25;36-37)..He that putteth not out his money to USURY, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. (Psalms15;5)Hath given forth upon USURY, and hath taken increase; shall he then live? he shall not live; he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. (Ezekiel 18;13).In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken USURY and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 22;12). Exodus 22;25; ; Nehemiah 5; 7-10; and Proverbs 28; 8.  Prohibition of Usury (Interest on Money/Loan/Credit) also mentioned in Hindu scripturess;  Defiling a damsel, USURY, breaking a vow, selling a tank, a garden, one’s wife, or child, (Manu Smriti; 11;62. )Stipulated INTEREST beyond the legal rate, being against (the law), cannot be recovered; they call that a USURIOUS way (of lending); (the lender) is (in no case) entitled to (more than) five in the hundred (Manu Smriti; 8;152)..It was made clear that riba transaction is different than trade and that it is the Will of Allah to prohibit riba irrespective of any reasons which may be given for its support. Prohibition of riba in Qur’an is undoubtedly quite strict and decisive. Sunna explains different forms of riba and puts more emphasis on its prohibition. The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) in his hadith warned that riba is more sinful than committing adultery repeatedly. In order to fulfill this divine requirement, Muslims developed an alternative system of banking, commonly known as ‘Islamic Banking’, which is interest-free. Why is the Kaaba so important?  Allah (SWT) has made the Ka’bah, the Sacred House, an asylum of security and Hajj and ‘Umrah (pilgrimage) for mankind,  and also the Sacred Month and the animals of offerings and the garlanded (people or animals, etc. marked with the garlands on their necks made from the outer part of the stem of the Makkah trees for their security), that you may know that Allah has knowledge of all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and that Allah is the All-Knower of each and everything. (Surah al-Maidah;97) And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said; “O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols. “O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind. But whoso follows me, he verily is of me. And whoso disobeys me, – still You are indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. “O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka’bah at Makkah); in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), so fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks. (Surah Ibrahim;35-37) And (remember) when We showed Ibrahim (Abraham) the site of the (Sacred) House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) (saying); “Associate not anything (in worship) with Me, [La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (SWT) Islamic Monotheism], and sanctify My House for those who circumambulate it, and those who stand up for prayer, and those who bow (submit themselves with humility and obedience to Allah), and make prostration (in prayer, etc.);” (Surah Al-Hajj;26) The Kaaba is important because it symbolizes the willingness of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) to sacrifice his son Isma’il because Allah (SWT) asked him to in a dream. He was an obedient servant to God and he built an alter to offer his son up for sacrifice, and just as he was getting ready to sacrifice Ismail, Allah (SWT) stopped him. Allah (SWT) told Abraham that He was testing him and he passed the test. Then Allah (SWT) told Abraham to sacrifice a sheep instead..

Why is the night different from the day? 12. And We have appointed the night and the day as two Ayat (signs etc.). Then, We have made dark the sign of the night while We have made the sign of day illuminating, that you may seek bounty from your Lord, and that you may know the number of the years and the reckoning. And We have explained everything (in detail) with full explanation. (Surah Al-Asraa;12).

Why is the Qur’an not bringing about the desired change in society as it could during the days of its revelation? That is so because Allah will never change a grace which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves. And verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. (Surah Al-Anfal;53) The community that believes in the Qur’an is the biggest hurdle in bringing the desired changes in society. If believers of the Qur’an make themselves a living example of the Qur’an then no hindrance will occur in the acceptance as well as dissemination of its teachings..

Why Islam has greatly emphasized the importance of cleanliness and purity? The cleanliness of the body is the most elementary stage in achieving this because one’s physical state would most certainly have an effect on one’s mental and spiritual states. Islam has greatly emphasized the importance of cleanliness and purity; the Qur’an says what means the following; Indeed Allah loves those who repent and those who keep clean. (SurahAl-Baqarah;22) There you will find men who love cleanliness and Allah loves those who are clean. ( Surah At-Tawbah 9;108) “He indeed is successful who purifies himself (in mind and body), and remembers the name of his Lord, then prays.” (Surah Al-A’la;14-15) “Purify your garments and shun uncleanness.” (Surah Al-Muddathth;4-5) Prophet Muhammad has further expounded the importance of cleanliness by saying that “cleanliness is half of faith” (Muslim). In other words, enjoining cleanliness of the body brings a person to realize that when physical impurities dominate, their effect is felt mentally, thus creating a corroding effect on a person’s mental status, which will inevitably defile and pollute the soul. Therefore, for the process of spiritual cleanliness to take place, the beginning must be physical. Hence when a person washes the face and limbs several times a day at different intervals, he or she is refreshed and kept clean. This continual ritual of washing performed on the physical being of a person will eventually penetrate to the soul and help him or her draw closer to the Creator. Through the institution of ablution one can quite easily see how Islam uniquely combines the need for personal hygiene with the spiritual needs of the soul.

Why Jesus has a special place with love and respect among the Muslim community? And he [‘Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. ‘Isa’s (Jesus) descent on the earth] . Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). (Surah Az-Zukhruf;61)  And We said to the Children of Israel after him; “Dwell in the land, then, when the final and the last promise comes near [i.e. the Day of Resurrection or the descent of Christ [‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) on the earth]. We shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd (gathered out of various nations). (Surah Al-Asraa;104) As for Jesus (PBUH), he has a special place with regards to his  connection to the Islamic community in that God Almighty made him one of the most distinctive major portents of the Hour, and one of the keys of deliverance for this community in the end times, when Jesus (PBUH) will descend, as our Messenger described it; He will descend by a white tower east of Damascus wearing two robes of pale yellow, his hands placed on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, beads of water will drip from it; and when he raises it, silver beads like pearls will scatter from it. How beautiful, then, will be the scene of this descent, and how awe-inspiring will his appearance be (PBUH). The fact that this description is so detailed only adds to the certainty and the attachment of mind, understanding and sensibility to the meaning of our connection with this holy man so ennobled by his Lord. The ahadith which describe the time, place and manner of his blessed descent are at the level of mass-transmission. Therefore, the Muslim believes that he has a special connection with Christ (PBUH), and that he will lead the Muslims after he descends, according to God’s religion that he revealed to his messengers, and his law that he made the seal of the messages of all his envoys; that of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Islam addresses the faithful in a way that gives them a special attachment, great love, firm esteem and spiritual aptness for following our master Christ (PBUH)when he descends. May God make us among those whom He chooses to love, serve and aid Him –.

Why Jews, Christians and Muslims buried their dead bodies? Burial of the Abel shown to Qabil by Raven.  “ Then Allah sent a crow who scratched the ground to show him to hide the dead body of his brother. He (the murderer) said; “Woe to me! Am I not even able to be as this crow and to hide the dead body of my brother?” Then he became one of those who regretted. (Surah Al-Maidah; 31)..

Why jinns used to sit in space? “And we (Jinn) searched the sky but found it filled with strong guards and flames. And we (Jinn) used to sit in some of the sitting places thereof to hear but now whoever hears, he finds a flame waiting for him”. (Surah Al-Jinn;8-9) 15. And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. (Surah Ar-Rahman;15) Jinn are invisible beings, and according to aboveVerse, are made of heat energy let free from fire, infrared radiation (which is nothing but Electromagnetic Energy), therefore, they are afraid of the guards spoken of in the above verses, which may probably be black holes, which do not allow even light (Electromagnetic Radiation) to escape through them due to very high gravitational fields and also attract anything that comes in their vicinity and the flames may probably be parts of stars in plasmic state used as missiles. This appears to be an attack using nuclear fuel against the enemy. The above Qur’anic facts should have served as food for thought for the scientific community, but unfortunately we did not study the Qur’an keeping in view these aspects, although it is stated to be “Hudal’ linnas” – 2;185, (guidance for mankind) and claims to contain – 111. Indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for men of understanding. It (the Qur’an) is not a forged statement but a confirmation of the Allah’s existing Books [the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel) and other Scriptures of Allah] and a detailed explanation of everything and a guide and a Mercy for the people who believe. (Surah Yusuf;111) (Explanation of everything).

Why Man in Charge of the Earth ?  “Your Lord said to the angels, ‘I am appointing a vicegerent on earth.’ They said, ‘Will You appoint on it someone who would spread corruption and shed blood, whereas we celebrate Your praises and extol Your holiness?’ He said, ‘I surely know that of which you have no knowledge.’“ (SurahAl-Baqarah;30)  God, in His infinite wisdom, decided to hand over the earth’s affairs and destiny to man and give him a free hand to use, develop and transform all its energies and resources for the fulfillment of God’s will and purpose in creation, and to carry out the pre-eminent mission with which he was charged.  It may be assumed, then, that man has been given the capability to take on that responsibility, and the necessary latent skills and energies to fulfil God’s purpose on earth. It may, therefore, be concluded that a perfect harmony exists between those laws that govern the earth and the universe, and those governing man’s powers and abilities. The aim of this harmony is to eliminate and avoid conflict and collision, and to save man’s energies from being overwhelmed by the formidable forces of nature.  This clearly indicates that man is held in high regard in God’s sight, and occupies a prominent position in the system of the universe, bestowed on him by God Himself. This is neatly encapsulated in the glorious statement; “I am appointing a vicegerent on earth.” (SurahAl-Baqarah;30) The impact of this statement becomes even more profound and impressive, as we reflect on man’s contribution and achievement on earth and beyond.“They said; ‘Will You appoint on it someone who would spread corruption and shed blood, whereas we celebrate Your praises and extol Your holiness?’” (SurahAl-Baqarah;30) The angels’ reply suggests that they were aware of man’s nature and disposition, either through some past experience on earth or special inspiration or direct information. Thus, they were able to surmise that he would spread corruption and shed blood on earth. Furthermore, by nature, angels can think only of absolute goodness and complete peace. Hence, they perceive that total dedication to the praise of God should be the sole and ultimate purpose of existence. They were already carrying out this purpose, extolling God’s praises and glorifying Him at all times. The angels were not privy to God’s will and His purpose in setting up the earth and creating the various forms of life on it. They were not aware of God’s plan to have the earth developed, cultivated and enriched at the hands of man, His vicegerent there. It is true that man would commit corruption and shed blood, but even this apparently evil aspect of his function turns out to be for the best. It is a necessary consequence of perpetual progress and development, and the changes brought about by a ceaseless Endeavour in pursuit of better and higher things in this world. Thus, they are given God’s answer which settles the matter; “He said; “I surely know that of which you have no knowledge.’“ (Surah Al-Baqarah; 30) “And He taught Adam the names of all things and then turned to the angels and said, ‘Tell Me the names of these things, if what you say is true.’ They said, ‘Limitless of e You in Your glory! We only know what You have taught us. Indeed, You alone are all-knowing, wise.’ He said, Adam! Tell them their names.’ When he had told them all their names, He said, ‘Have I not said to you that I know the secrets of what is in the heavens and the earth, and I know all that you reveal and conceal?’“ (SurahAl-Baqarah;31-33) The passage takes us right into the very scene in which we can see the angels in God’s presence, and witness how He entrusts man with the task of God’s vicegerent on earth. He has given man the great secret of knowledge and cognition, as well as the ability to assign names to persons and objects which serve as symbols denoting whatever they are assigned to, even though they are no more than sounds and words. The ability to know and name objects has had the most profound effect on man’s life on earth. We can only imagine what life would have been like without this communication tool to appreciate its value. Indeed, without it, human life and interaction would have been unthinkable, and there would have been no progress beyond a very primitive state. Without such ability, all communication would have necessitated the presence of the subject matter. Thus, if a group wants to discuss something related to a tree, a mountain, or a particular person, then that person should be brought before the group, or they should all go to the tree or mountain. Indeed, without the ability to use names and symbols, human life could not function. The angels have no use for such ability because it is not required for their role. Therefore, they have not been given it. When God, having bestowed this great honour on Adam, asked the angels to identify certain objects, they could not because they did not possess the ability to use symbols and assign names or titles to things. They admitted their inability and recognized the limits of their knowledge, prompting the comment that followed; “He said, ‘Have I not said to you that I know the secrets of what is in the heavens and the earth, and I know all that you reveal and conceal?’“ (Surah Al-Baqarah;33).

Why Muslims give mothers priority over fathers? And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship and she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty (30) months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says; “My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will).” (Surah Al-Ahqaf;15) Interestingly, however, the above verse gives mothers priority over fathers. This principle is confirmed in aḥadīth where Muslims are instructed to give their mothers three-fold beneficence, respect and caring as compared to their fathers. This should be, at least partially, a matter of compensation for the intensive care that offspring receive from their mothers. The special elevated rank of mothers is alluded to in the following ḥadīth; A man came to Allah’s Apostle and said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man said. “Who is next?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man further said, “Who is next?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked for the fourth time, “Who is next? The Prophet said, “Your father” Therefore, in addition to the long period of pregnancy, labor, hard delivery, breast-feeding, and continuous care given, mothers contribute more genetic material to their offspring than fathers. Maternal determinants guide embryos towards appropriate body orientation and differentiation. Mothers have an extraordinary rank in Islam due to their contributions to life and society..

Why must the Qur’an be read in its original language? “We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves stray those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases; and He is Exalted in power, Full of Wisdom.” (Surah Ibrahim;4) In the plain Arabic language. (Surah Ash-Shu’ara;195 ) Then, just as the meaning of the Qur’an comes from Allah, so too are its words, expressions and spelling divine. When the word the Qur’an is mentioned, both its words in Arabic and its meaning are understood; and it is true. It is not possible to separate those two aspects and to consider them separately. Since the Qur’an can be read only in its original language, it can be written and read only using the letters of that language. The language of the Prophet (PBUH) to whom the Qur’an was sent down as revelation was Arabic. If the Qur’an had been sent down to Muhammad (PBUH) in another language, he would not have understood it. Could it have been possible for a prophet who was appointed to convey and explain a book that he could not understand to convey and explain it to others?  In the Qur’an, the expression “Arabic Qur’an” is used in six places. That is, God Almighty states that he sent the Qur’an in Arabic. “. 2. Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an in order that you may understand. Surah Yusuf;2) . We verily, have made it a Qur’an in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). Surah Az-Zukhruf;3) 3. A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Qur’an in Arabic for people who know. Surah Fussilat3)44. And if We had sent this as a Qur’an in a foreign language other than Arabic, they would have said; “Why are not its Verses explained in detail (in our language)? What! (A Book) not in Arabic and (the Messenger) an Arab?” Say; “It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing. And as for those who disbelieve, there is heaviness (deafness) in their ears, and it (the Qur’an) is blindness for them. They are those who are called from a place far away (so they neither listen nor understand). Surah Fussilat;44). 12. And before this was the Scripture of Musa (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Qur’an) in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings to the Muhsinun (Surah Al-Ahqaf;12). 37. And thus have We sent it (the Qur’an) down to be a judgement of authority in Arabic. Were you (O Muhammad ) to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which has come to you, then you will not have any Wali (protector) or defender against Allah. Surah Ar-Ra’d;37) 28. An Arabic Qur’an, without any crookedness (therein) in order that they may avoid all evil which Allah has ordered them to avoid, fear Him and keep their duty to Him. Surah Az-Zumar;28. ) 103. And indeed We know that they (polytheists and pagans) say; “It is only a human being who teaches him (Muhammad ).” The tongue of the man they refer to is foreign, while this (the Qur’an) is a clear Arabic tongue. Surah An-Nahl;103. ). 113. And thus We have sent it down as a Qur’an in Arabic, and have explained therein in detail the warnings, in order that they may fear Allah, or that it may cause them to have a lesson from it (or to have the honour for believing and acting on its teachings). Surah Ta-Ha;113).

Why our invocation or supplication not be answered by Allah (SWT)? The first prerequisite for answering our supplication by Allah (SWT) is repentance and seeking Allah’s forgiveness. The repentance should be sincere, not a mere verbal statement which we repeat like a parrot, without putting any thought into it. Allah (SWT) only answers supplication (invocation) when it is made with total sincerity and honesty because sincerity emphasizes the acknowledgment of Allah’s lordship. Hence supplication which fulfils these requirements is addressed by a servant of Allah who is perfectly aware of his need to receive Allah’s grace and the fact that Allah (SWT) alone can bestow such grace. When we fulfill these requirements and demonstrate our humility in front of Allah (SWT), our supplication will be answered. “And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad (PBUH) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led a right. ” (Surah Al-Baqarah;186) And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). (Surah Qaf;16)  60. And your Lord said; “Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!” Surah Ghafir or Al-Mumin;60) 26. And He answers (the invocation of) those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and gives them increase of His Bounty. And as for the disbelievers, theirs will be a severe torment. (Surah Ash-Shurah;26).

Why polytheists not allowed entering into the Sacred Mosque? Because the polytheists are unclean i.e. in their beliefs and Good deeds (Aamal Saleh’), as Qur’an say; ” O you who believe (in Allah’s Oneness and in His Messenger (Muhammad )! Verily, the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, and in the Message of Muhammad ) are Najasun (impure) . So let them not come near Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) after this year, and if you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you if He will, out of His Bounty. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.”. (Surah Al-Baraat/Surah At-Taubah;28).

Why qibla was change in Islam? The Prophet Muhammad and his Companions were in  a mosque in Zeila,  (later known as Qiblatayn). During the noon prayer, Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, received a revelation from God instructing him to, “Turn your face towards the Masjid al Haram “142. The fools (pagans, hypocrites, and Jews) among the people will say, “What has turned them (Muslims) from their Qiblah [prayer direction (towards Jerusalem)] to which they were used to face in prayer.” Say, (O Muhammad ) “To Allah belong both, east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a Straight Way.”143. Thus We have made you [true Muslims – real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad  and his sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad ) be a witness over you. And We made the Qiblah (prayer direction towards Jerusalem) which you used to face, only to test those who followed the Messenger (Muhammad ) from those who would turn on their heels (i.e. disobey the Messenger). Indeed it was great (heavy) except for those whom Allah guided. And Allah would never make your faith (prayers) to be lost (i.e. your prayers offered towards Jerusalem). Truly, Allah is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards mankind.144. Verily! We have seen the turning of your (Muhammad’s ) face towards the heaven. Surely, We shall turn you to a Qiblah (prayer direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid- al-Haram (at Makkah). And wheresoever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) in that direction. Certainly, the people who were given the Scriptures (i.e. Jews and the Christians) know well that, that (your turning towards the direction of the Ka’bah at Makkah in prayers) is the truth from their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do. (Surah Al-Baqarah;142-144) Within this mosque, they turned the direction of their prayers on the spot. Thus, this is the only mosque on earth with two qiblas, hence the name Qiblatayn (“Two Qiblas”). There are more than 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, and each time they pray, they turn their faces in one direction, towards Makkah. The Islamic term for this direction is qibla. When a Muslim prepares to pray, no matter where he is, he turns towards the qibla, the direction of the  Kaaba . The Kaaba is a small cube shaped building in the courtyard of the mosque known as Masjid Al Haram, in the city of Makkah, in the country of Saudi Arabia. “148. For every nation there is a direction to which they face (in their prayers). So hasten towards all that is good. Wheresoever you may be, Allah will bring you together (on the Day of Resurrection). Truly, Allah is Able to do all things. 149. And from wheresoever you start forth (for prayers), turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah), that is indeed the truth from your Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. Surah Al-Baqarah;148-149) Muslims do not worship the  Kaaba , or its contents, it is simply a focal point. Muslims worship One God, the Most Merciful, and the Most Wise. God decreed that when Muslims pray they all face one direction. It is a sign of unity that encapsulates the unity embedded in the religion of Islam.  The Arabic word for prayer is salah and it demotes a connection between the believer and God; when all believers face the same direction it adds an extra dimension to the connection. The prayer connects the believers to God and the qibla connects the believers to one another. It has been said that if one could observe all the Muslims at prayer we would be able to see lines of worshippers bowing and prostrating like the petals of a flower opening and closing in unison. The qibla was not always oriented towards Makkah. The first Muslims prayed towards the al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Around sixteen months after Prophet Muhammad and his followers migrated from Makkah to the city of Medina, the qibla was changed to the  Kaaba . According to accounts by Prophet Muhammad’s companions, the change happened very suddenly. Changing the direction of prayer establishes Makkah as the fixed central point for worship. It establishes a common sense or purpose. Islam is a religion of unity. Muslims are united by their belief in One God. They are one brotherhood united in the language and ritual of prayer and united by the direction of their worship.

Why questions will not be asked from people on the Day of Judgment? It is in Qur’an – ‘39. So on that Day no question will be asked of man or jinn as to his sin, (because they have already been known from their faces either white or black). (Surah Ar-Rahman39. )The meaning of the verse is, on the Day of Judgment, questions will not be asked from people as to what sins they committed. The souls of their limbs and other body parts’ will speak to Allah and inform Him of the sins they committed.  Allah knows the language of every soul created in this cosmos. The stomach will say what wrongful and prohibited food was consumed by it. The eyes will say what prohibited things were witnessed by them and hands and legs will say what wrong doings they committed. It is in Qur’an – ‘Verily, the ear and the eye and the heart – every one of them shall have to answer for, in regard to the way it has functioned’ (Surah Al-Asraa 36).The above verse does not say that Allah will make human body parts to talk only on the Day of Judgment.  It says that every part has to answer for its function.  .

Why should someone accept Muhammad as Allah (SWT)’s messenger to entire humanity?   “O Mankind!  The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe, then, for your own good!  And if you deny the truth – behold, unto God belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, and Allah  is indeed all-knowing, wise!” (Surah An-Nisaa;170) Allah (SWT) invites all human beings to accept Muhammad as His “Messenger” who brought truth from his Lord.  A “messenger” of Allah (SWT), in Islamic doctrine, is more than a prophet.  A prophet is essentially someone who foretells the future.  A “messenger” is a moral teacher appointed by Allah (SWT)  to carry the divine message to others based on revelation he receives.  The reception of ‘message’ from Allah (SWT) is termed ‘revelation.’  Islamic tradition views all ‘messengers’ as prophets, but all prophets are not considered ‘messengers.’  Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, may Allah (SWT)  praise them, are viewed as messengers. Muhammad was a fulfillment of the biblical prophecies of Moses and Jesus.  Muhammad had an impeccable character and lived a perfect life that has been preserved like no other man’s.  His religious teachings and morals are the best solution to modernity’s predicaments.  The Qur’an, the scripture he brought from Allah (SWT) to the world, is an inimitable literary miracle and the only world scripture that has been preserved word by word.  In short, everything about him and from him is simply true.  Those who do not know this man are invited to learn more about him, as Allah (SWT)  Himself has announced that belief in Muhammad is better for the person’s own good.  If he does so, he will live a happy, disciplined existence in this life, and after death he will live for eternity in Paradise.  If someone chooses to reject him (and, consequently, the One who sent him), it will not harm Allah (SWT)  or His messenger in anyway, but rather only harm the one who rejects.  Everything in the universe belongs to Allah (SWT), He knows everything and is wise in what He commands and creates.

Why should you be a Muslim? The thing acceptable to God will be obedience to Him and submission to His will. The Holy Qur`an states;” And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers..” (Surah Ale-Imran;85),  “Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, then surely, Allah is Swift in calling to account. (Surah Ale-Imran;19) ” O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah.  (Surah Ale-Imran;102).

Why the pork (flesh of the swine) is forbidden in Islam? Allah says in His Book; “ He has forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine.” (Surah Al-Baqarah;173)The Qur’an does not explain the reasons why pork is prohibited, as it never accounts for the reasons why the Tree in the Garden of Eden was forbidden for Adam.  Therefore, Islam’s prohibition of Pork must be taken as a divine order which must be obeyed. It must also be noted that Islam is not the only heavenly religion which prohibits pork since pork is prohibited in the Old Testament too and, as it has been proved, it was Saint Paul who made it permissible for Christians to eat pork even though the Old Testament is also binding for Christians. Jesus and his early followers did not eat pork. He followed the laws of Moses and he did not eat pork. In Leviticus 11;7-8, “7 And the swine, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. 8 0f their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you. ” Jesus (pbuh) destroyed 2000 pigs to heal one man— (b) “And forthwith Jesus gave them leave (permission). And the unclean spirits (the devils) went out, and entered into the swine; and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea (they were about two thousand); and were choked in the sea MARK 5;13 (See also, Deuteronomy 14;8.) Jesus’ only dealing with pigs was his permission to the unclean spirits which were possessing a man to enter them. When they entered the herd of pigs, they ran into the water and drowned. However, most people who call themselves Christians today not only eat pork, they love it so much that they have made pigs the subject of nursery rhymes [ e.g. This little piggy went to market … ] and children’s stories [eg. The Three Little Pigs]. Porky Pig is a very popular cartoon character and recently a full-length feature movie was made about a pig called “Babe”. Thus, it may be said that those who call themselves followers of Christ are not in fact following the way of Christ.  He the Almighty also said:   “Forbidden to you are carrion, blood and flesh of swine, and that which has been hallowed to other than Allah, and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; and that which has been partly eaten by a wild animal-excepting that you have sacrificed duly…” (Surah An-Nisaa:3)145. Say (O Muhammad ); “I find not in that which has been inspired to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytatah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork, etc.) for that surely is impure, or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned whileslaughtering). But whosoever is forced by necessity without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, (for him) certainly, your Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah Al-An’am;145) In Islamic law, the prohibition of pork and its products has been strictly maintained from the time of Prophet Muhammad ( ) until today. If one is in a state where he has to consume pork to live, he/she can consume it for that time being and save his/her life. Islam is a very flexible religion and Allah (SWT) mentions in the Qur’an; “Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want for you difficulty…”(Surah Al-Baqarah185)

Why the Qur’an says leave corn in its ears?  (He said); O Yusuf (Joseph), the man of truth! Explain to us (the dream) of seven fat cows whom seven lean ones were devouring, and of seven green ears of corn, and (seven) others dry, that I may return to the people, and that they may know. Yusuf said; For seven consecutive years, you shall sow as usual and that (the harvest) which you reap you shall leave in ears, (all) – except a little of it which you may eat. Then will come after that, seven hard (years), which will devour what you have laid by in advance for them, (all) except a little of that which you have guarded (stored). Then thereafter will come a year in which people will have abundant rain and in which they will press (wine and oil).  Allah, the Almighty, says; (He said); O Yusuf (Joseph), the man of truth! Then thereafter will come a year in which people will have abundant rain and in which they will press (wine and oil).” (Surah Yusuf;45-49) The Scientific Fact; Storing corn in its ears is considered one of the basic methods of preserving such seeds during hard environmental conditions. This combination of growing crops and preserving and storing them is called preserving products. Facets of Scientific Inimitability; Almighty Allah (SWT) says; “…which you reap you shall leave in ears” which means that storing seeds in their ears is the best way to preserve them. There are two other scientific observations in this verse; 1- Defining the period over which seeds are expected to be viable; fifteen years. People were commanded to grow wheat for seven years and then seven hard years would follow and then one year (totaling fifteen in all) will come when people will be able to produce wine and oil. Scientific researchers have proven that wheat seeds can keep their ability to grow for a maximum of fifteen years. 2- The method of storage by leaving seeds in their ears has also been tested in the research. This shows that the best way to store seeds is the way practiced by Prophet Yusuf who was taught by Allah (SWT). It is historically proven that this way was unknown before, especially to ancient Egyptians who used to store wheat seeds outside their ears. Obviously, this is a scientific miracle that shows the greatness and accuracy of the Ever-Glorious Qur’an and that it is a revelation from Allah (Exalted and Glorified be He)..

Why the Thamud or Shuaib people, were destroyed by Allah (SWT)? The Thamud were a people of Northern Arabia who disobeyed Allah’s commands and guidance, and they were notorious for their wickedness, corruption and persecution of weak . They also pride in worldly prosperity and strength. To understand there is no guarantee of survival in strength, corruption and in pride.   Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression (by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism, and by following polytheism, and by committing every kind of sin). When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel). But the Messenger of Allah [Salih (Saleh)] said to them; “Be cautious! Fear the evil end. That is the she-camel of Allah (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!”14. Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all grades of people, rich and poor, strong and weak, etc.) (Surah as-Shams;11-14) And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih (Saleh). He said; “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah); none has the right to be worshipped but Allah ). Indeed there has come to you a clear sign (the miracle of the coming out of a huge she-camel from the midst of a rock) from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah  is a sign unto you; so you leave her to graze in Allah’s earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should seize you. (Surah al-Araf;73)  Thamud and ‘Ad people denied the Qari’ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]!. As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! (Surah Al-Haqqa;4-5) And ‘Aad and Thamud (people)! And indeed (their destruction) is clearly apparent to you from their (ruined) dwellings. Shaitan (Satan) made their  deeds fair-seeming to them, and turned them away from the (Right) Path, though they were intelligent. (Surah al-Ankabut;38) So We punished each (of them) for his sins, of them were some on whom We sent Hasiban (a violent wind with shower of stones) [as the people of Lout (Lot)], and of them were some who were overtaken by As-Saihah [torment – awful cry, etc. (as Thamud or Shu’aib’s people)], and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow [as Qarun (Korah)], and of them were some whom We drowned [as the people of Nuh (Nuh), or Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his people]. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves. (Surah al-Ankabut;40)  And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih (Saleh). He said; “O my people! Worship Allah, you have no other Ilah (God) but Him. He brought you forth from the earth and settled you therein, then ask forgiveness of Him and turn to Him in repentance. Certainly, my Lord is Near (to all by His Knowledge), Responsive.” (Surah Hud; 61)  Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. For they said; “A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!” (Surah al-Qamar;23-24) And nothing stops Us from sending the Ayat (proofs, evidences, signs) but that the people of old denied them. And We sent the she-camel to Thamud as a clear sign, but they did her wrong. And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction). (Surah Al-Asraa;59) And as for Thamud, We showed and made clear to them the Path of Truth (Islamic Monotheism) through Our Messenger, (i.e. showed them the way of success), but they preferred blindness to guidance, so the Sa’iqah (a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt) of disgracing torment seized them, because of what they used to earn. (Surah Fussilat/Surah Ha Mim As Sajdah;17).

Why was death and life created? 6. That is He, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.7. Who made everything He has created good, and He began the creation of man from clay.8. Then He made his offspring from semen of worthless water (male and female sexual discharge).9. Then He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him the soul (created by Allah for that person), and He gave you hearing (ears), sight (eyes) and hearts. Little is the thanks you give! Surah As-Sajdah;6–9)An interesting concept in the Qur’an is that ultimately God is the owner of everything and the ultimate of all. An ethical implication of this concept is that a human does not “own” his or her life, health, or wealth in an absolute and unqualified sense. In other words, a Muslim does not accept such argument as “It is my body. I do with it what I want, and if I decide to commit suicide, it is all up to me.” From an Islamic perspective, the human body is a trust from God. Likewise, if a person is ill and there are cures available, it becomes an obligation to seek an appropriate potential cure. This is based on the same notion that health is a trust from God that should be protected and enhanced so as to be able to fulfill the purpose of creation.. The Qur’an states that God created the human being to be His trustee on earth. 30. And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels; “Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth.” They said; “Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, – while we glorify You with praises and thanks (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners) and sanctify You.” He (Allah) said; “I know that which you do not know.” Surah Al-Baqarah;30. According to the Qur’an, God has subjected all that is in the heavens and the earth for human benefit, as a gift from Him. 13. And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply. Surah Al-Jathiyah;13) However, every choice has its own consequences. A third central belief is the belief in the life hereafter. The Qur’an states that God has created death and life to test the humans as to their conduct in their earthly lives. 2. Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; Surah Al-Mulk;2) According to the Qur’an, God predestines and decrees the moment we will die before we are conceived in the wombs of our mothers. No one can hasten or delay his or her own death or that of others if it is against the will of God, regardless of the cause of death. The Qur’an makes it clear that every soul shall taste death, including the greatest Prophets. 185. Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). Surah Ale-Imran;185)25. And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad ) but We inspired him (saying); La ilaha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and none else).” Surah Al-Anbiyah’ ;25)57. Everyone shall taste the death. Then unto Us you shall be returned. Surah Al-Ankabut ;57) That in itself is sort of a consolation and a means of alleviation of the understandable universal human fear of death. Actually, the Qur’an states;78. “Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in fortresses built up strong and high!” And if some good reaches them, they say, “This is from Allah,” but if some evil befalls them, they say, “This is from you (O Muhammad ).” Say; “All things are from Allah,” so what is wrong with these people that they fail to understand any word? Surah An-Nisaa’;78) This is not withstanding individual obligation to save one’s life and the lives of others, especially health professionals. When one’s destined time of death comes, it comes, neither earlier nor later.33. O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord (by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah.34. Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things). Surah Luqman;33-34 Muslims’ beliefs about death and afterlife influence their attitudes towards end-of-life decisions, more specifically, whether to remove life-support equipments. While death itself is scary, by realization that everyone is returning to God, the experience of death may become, relatively speaking, less scary. For a believer in the afterlife who tried his or her best, death means a transition from one form of existence to another, looking forward to be in the presence of God. That is probably why the Qur’an states that among the most praiseworthy people are those who, when afflicted with the death of a loved one or similar calamity, say;156. Who, when afflicted with calamity, say; “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” Surah Al-Baqarah;156) 77. But seek, with that (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of legal enjoyment in this world, and do good as Allah has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupts). Surah Al-Qasas;77)

Why was Prophet Lut (AS) worried when the Messengers of Allah (SWT) came to him? And when Our Messengers came to Lut (Lot), he was grieved on their account and felt himself straitened for them (lest the town people should approach them to commit sodomy with them). He said; “This is a distressful day.” (Surah Hud;77 ).

Why will the disbelievers be punished in Hellfire? In front of them there is Hell, and that which they have earned will be of no profit to them, nor (will be of any profit to them) those whom they have taken as Auliya’ (protectors, helpers, etc.) besides Allah. And theirs will be a great torment. (Surah Al-Jathiyah;10).

Will a new Muslim be inferior to a person born to Muslim parents? No. On the contrary, a new Muslim could be better than many born Muslims. Islam teaches that no person is superior over any other person on the basis of birth, race, tribe, nationality, language color, wealth or sex. The Holy Qur’an says; “O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious)]. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware….”(Surah Al-Hujuraat;13).

Will Allah (SWT) forgive to those who have done wrong out of ignorance? “Then, verily! Your Lord for those who do evil (commit sins and are disobedient to Allah) in ignorance and afterward repent and do righteous deeds, verily, your Lord thereafter, (to such) is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. ” (Surah an-Nahl;119).

Will Allah (SWT) provide security for those who believe only in Allah (SWT)? “Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)”. (Surah an-Nur;55).

Will Allah (SWT) reward the good deeds of Unbelievers?  “It is not for the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, to maintain the Mosques of Allah (i.e. to pray and worship Allah (SWT) therein, to look after their cleanliness and their building, etc.), while they witness against their own selves of disbelief. The works of such are in vain and in Fire shall they abide.”  (Surah Al-Bara’at/Surah At-Taubah;17). It is very clear that idolaters will have no reward. Surely, they have disbelieved who say; “Allah is the Messiah [‘Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary).” But the Messiah [‘Iesa (Jesus)] said; “O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode . And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers. Surely, disbelievers are those who said; “Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah ). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them. ” (Surah al-Maidah;72-73).

Will remorse in Hell be of any benefit? Allah (SWT)  informs all mankind through His messengers and His revelations about what they should do. He does not destroy any city without giving it prior warning as a reminder (Surahash-Shu’ara;24) Everyone lives long enough to take heed and to learn what to do. People who persist in their unbelief despite being cognisant of everything they have to do and having enough time to be mindful, thus, deserve to stay in Hell forever. However, having entered Hell, these people will feel a deep regret for what they did in the world, which cannot possibly be compensated for. Begging to return to the world in order to compensate for the things they did will be of no help to the unbelievers, for they refused to grasp the opportunity they were given before and will have missed their chance forever. Allah relates the helplessness of these unbelievers in the Qur’an as follows; They will shout out in it, “Our Lord! Take us out! We will act rightly, differently from the way we used to act!” Did We not let you live long enough for anyone who was going to pay heed? And did not the warner come to you? Taste it then! There is no helper for the wrongdoers.   (Surah Fatir;37)

Will Satan and arrogant (chiefs) going to help the weak (sinners)  on day of Resurrection? 21. And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak (sinners) will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): “Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah’s Torment?” They will say: “Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us.”22. And Shaitan (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: “Verily, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).”  (Surah Ibrahim;21-22)snv

Will the history of the first creation be repeated?  104. And (remember) the Day when We shall roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books, as We began the first creation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it. (Surah Al-Anbiyah’;104).

With whom is a Muslim allowed to eat? There is no restriction on the blind, nor any restriction on the lame, nor any restriction on the sick, nor on yourselves, if you eat from your houses, or the houses of your fathers, or the houses of your mothers, or the houses of your brothers, or the houses of your sisters, or the houses of your father’s brothers, or the houses of your father’s sisters, or the houses of your mother’s brothers, or the houses of your mother’s sisters, or (from that) whereof you hold keys, or (from the house) of a friend. No sin on you whether you eat together or an apart. (Surah Al-Nur;61).

Women should not display their finery→ “And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet’s] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.” – (Surah Al-Ahzab;33).

Women with whom marriage is unlawful? Forbidden to you (for marriage) are; your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father’s sisters, your mother’s sisters, your brother’s daughters, your sister’s daughters, your foster mother who gave you suck, your foster milk suckling sisters, your wives’ mothers, your step daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom you have gone in – but there is no sin on you if you have not gone in them (to marry their daughters), – the wives of your sons who (spring) from your own loins, and two sisters in wedlock at the ;same time, except for what has already passed; verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah An-Nisaa’;23).

Yaakub AS is mentioned in the Qur’an 20 times. However nothing of his life-story is reported except in connection with his illustrious son, Yusuf AS.

You are cursed if you say Jesus is God’s son→The Jews call ‘Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them; how they are deluded away from the Truth! (Surah At-Taubah;30)
